Compensation handed over to the families of 2 tribal youths who died in custody

Navsari police handed over a compensation amount of three lakh rupees each to the families of two tribal youths of Dang who were killed in Chikhli police custody on Saturday.

With Navsari District Superintendent of Police Rushikesh Upadhyay BJP Dang MLA Vijay Patel and Dang BJP President Mangal Gavit reached Vaghai taluka and handed over checks of Rs 3 lakh each to Niruben Pawar, mother of deceased Sunil Pawar and Mahesh Jadav, elder brother of deceased Ravi Jadav.

Upadhyay said, “We have done detailed scrutiny of the documents and identified the actual beneficiaries and today we have handed over the compensation amount to the beneficiaries. Ravi is an orphan while Sunil has mother and elder sister. We have given the bank account numbers of both the beneficiaries. We are also looking for the accused involved in this case and they will be arrested soon.

On July 20, two tribal youths Sunil and Ravi, both aged 19, were taken into custody at Chikhali police station on suspicion of vehicle theft. The next day, the bodies of the two youths were found hanging from an electrical cable attached to a computer system in the computer room. On 22 July, Superintendent of Police Rushikesh Upadhyay suspended five policemen, including Chikhali Police Inspector Ajitsinh Wala, in connection with the incident. .

Navsari police had registered a case of murder against five policemen at Chikhali police station on July 28, identified as Chikhali police station inspector Ajit Singh Wala, sub-inspector of police MB Kokni, head constable Shaktisinh Zala, constables Ramji Yadav and Ravindra Rathod and one As an unknown person. .
