CITCO, IRCTC join hands to optimize travel packages

NS Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) and IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has joined hands by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to work together on customizing travel packages and development and expansion of tourism verticals in and around Chandigarh.

CITCO said it will “emphasize on driving our tourist destinations, while IRCTC will bring in international and domestic tourists by offering travel packages”.

“Both sides will jointly explore areas of cooperation and prepare a detailed plan for the same. The areas of cooperation will include development of rail tourism products combined with the transport segment provided by IRCTC and land package assistance including accommodation, food and transportation etc. to be provided by CITCO.

Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu, Managing Director, CITCO said, “Using the strength and infrastructure of both the parties for the broader objective of promoting the tourist destination is one of the key reasons behind this tie-up. In addition, we will share the web portal where the services of both the parties can be accessible and promoted.

IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director Rajni Hasija said, “We will also market each other’s products/services to our customers, thus improving the range of services for tourists and travellers. Organizing, organizing conferences jointly is also on our agenda. We will use the combined strength of Railways and Citco to promote and market our product to passengers.”

CITCO will make comprehensive package for IRCTC passengers. All the three properties will be listed on IRCTC portals (tourism, railway and air portals) for promotion of the package. These visits can be highlighted on IRCTC website and online portal.

There are additional features in the package to entice the travelers HOHO Bus Tour City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Double Decker Tourist Bus, Cruise Package in Sukhna Lake.

CITCO and IRCTC will also do joint programs in future.
