The Bishop of London, Sarah Mullally, said, “What a joy it is today to be able to offer those who want to celebrate their relationship in this way.”
The plans, which will be outlined in a report to the General Synod, would allow same-sex partnerships to come into Anglican churches after a legal marriage ceremony for services including dedication, thanksgiving and blessing of the Lord.
There will be a ban on priests marrying same-sex couples.
