Abhishek Kapoor Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui All set to hit the theaters on Friday. The trailer of the film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor hinted at a gender-bending romance. Despite it not being a typical commercial Hindi drama, film trade analysts expect Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui to open well at the box office.
According to filmmaker and film business expert Girish Johar, the film “looks very promising. The songs are spot on and the trailer has been appreciated. After the pandemic, we have seen a slew of commercial films but this is something different. Theirs too. Believes Ayushmann will attract the audience to the theaters as he has given many hits in the past.
“Also, Ayushmann is coming after a long time. Before the pandemic, he had back-to-back hits on his account. He has always given a different kind of cinema. Through his films, he wants to convey a special message in the form of humor.
With COVID-19 With restrictions still in place and theaters not operating at full capacity, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is expected to get off to a good start at the ticket counters. Girish Johar shared, “The film is expected to open at Rs 4-5 crore. If things go well, it can increase to Rs 6-7 crore.
In the pre-pandemic situation, Ayushmann Khurrana gave hit after hit. Out of his 14 theatrical releases, he failed to draw audiences to the cinema halls only three times (Bewakoofiyaan, Hawaiianzada and Meri Pyaari Bindu). Despite several small budgets and unconventional releases, the actor managed to hold his own at the box office where stars are made and destroyed every Friday.

Talking about Khurrana’s success mantra, Girish Johar said, “The audience knows that he tries to break taboos with the kind of films he chooses. He reaches the maximum audience with his lighter roles and hence it is raking in the box office numbers. He has been able to choose clever and right stories, which are being loved by the audience. With Ayushmann starring in a film, people know something will happen to him. He has a good hold at the box office which he has proved in the past.”
Now it has to be seen whether this attraction of Ayushmann Khurrana will once again be able to make people stand in queues in theaters or not.
‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ starring Kanwaljit Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Gautam Sharma and Abhishek Bajaj will hit the theaters on December 10.
