Edin Dzeko and Denzel Dumfries were on target as Inter Milan beat 10-man Viktoria Plzen 2-0 on Tuesday for their first win of the Champions League season.
Inter made amends in their 2-0 home loss to Bayern last week.
Inter manager Simone Inzaghi said: “I’m certainly very happy my players remained focused throughout the game and I thanked them for that.”

“The players wanted to win today, they went for it and deserved to win.”
Jaco opened the score after 20 minutes in Plzen, during which the hosts had barely crossed the halfway mark.
The 36-year-old Bosnian defeated goalkeeper Jindrich Stenk with a low shot at the far post when Joaquin Correa found him in the left side of the box.
It was Zeko’s 10th goal against Plzen in various competitions, including two hat-tricks he scored as an AS Roma player in 2016 and 2018.
Plzen had little to give in last week’s 5-1 loss to Barcelona, and his chances suffered a fatal blow on 60 minutes when midfielder Pavel Buka was sent off after hitting Niccol Barella’s shin with his spikes.
Ten minutes later, Dzeko rolled down the pitch on a counter-attack and pulled out an unmarked Dumfries, which struck Stanek again at the far post.
Inzaghi said the red card had “definitely helped” his team.
“But we controlled the game by then, the only drawback was that it was still only 1-0”.
“We are glad that we have turned a difficult game into an easy one,” Inzaghi said.
Stanek kept the hosts’ chance alive as he denied Djeko each side of half-time and cleared a header from Robin Gosens on the post after the break.
Inter host Barcelona in their next Champions League game on 4 October, while Plzen travel to Bayern.
