JACKSON COUNTY, MO (KCTV) – A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in August 2019.
Douglas V. Griffin, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, according to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to court records, KCPD officers had gone to the area of US 71 Highway and Red Bridge Road on a reported body at that time.
When police arrived, they found the victim on the ground next to the Mitsubishi Galant, who had been wounded by gunshot wounds and was dead.
Detectives then determined that the car was linked to Griffin.
Police later abandoned the victim’s vehicle near 55th Street, where Griffin lived.
Analysis of cell phone records found that Griffin and a colleague were in the area where the murder took place and the time it took place.
