Brazil Boss Tite has dropped Renan Lodi for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay because Atletico Madrid Full back course not completed COVID-19 Comments.

“Renan Lodi was ruled out of the possibility of being called because he was not vaccinated,” Tite told reporters on Thursday. ‘He missed the opportunity to compete (for a place).’

“I personally believe that vaccination is a social responsibility, it is both mine and the person with me,” he said during the squad announcement in Rio.

Renan Lodi is currently in Saudi Arabia where Atletico Madrid will take on Athletic Bilbao in the second semi-final of the restarted Spanish Super Cup on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Tite recalled Dani Alves back into the national setup, while Philippe Coutinho was also named in the 26-man squad.

Coutinho has not played for Brazil since October 2020, but has subtitled benches for recent games against Argentina and Colombia.

His call up comes days after he sealed a sensational payback in the Premier League, where he will play under former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.

Brazil has already qualified for the Qatar World Cup and top the South American group of 10 teams with five matches to go.
