Boys who attacked outside school were being threatened: Police

A day after four Class X students were allegedly assaulted by a group of students from another school outside a government school in East Delhi, a preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the victims were briefly bullied. was going.

DCP (East) Priyanka Kashyap said her team has nabbed two boys and detained a few more people who are being questioned about their role: “All the boys, victims and accused, 14-16 years old are of age. The victims were attacked after taking the examination. They tried to run towards a park but were chased and attacked there. Forensic crime team took samples. We are probing the CCTV and interrogating all the parties involved.

Four boys, who were seriously injured, were taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and one of them has now been shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, police said.

Meanwhile, their families alleged that the school authorities did nothing to help them.

Grandfather of a 16-year-old boy admitted to AIIMS said: “He was excited as it was his last exam and his uncle was getting married on Saturday. We were all waiting for him to come home. Around 2-3 pm, we got a call from the police that he had a fight and was injured. I had tears in my eyes when I saw him… He had serious back injuries. LBS doctors told us to take him to AIIMS as he was bleeding profusely. He was on ventilator and will have surgery.”

“It is not just a school fight. The accused are crooks… My grandson first came out of school and they beat him up. I was told that he lay on the ground for at least 15-20 minutes and the school guards closed the gate. This is extremely irresponsible. I want strict action against all the boys. My grandson told me that they were carrying sticks, batons, knives and other sharp objects,” he alleged.

The school administration declined to comment on the incident, saying it took place outside their premises.

Families of other victims as well as students said they were leaving school when the group attacked. A student, who also took the exam at the school, alleged: “We were shouting and running. Nobody helped. Two of my friends were attacked with knives. I was scared… we didn’t have any fights with these boys. They have been misbehaving with us for a long time.”

The uncle of one of the injured boys, who suffered head and leg injuries, alleged: “My nephew was on his way out of the examination center when he was hit on the head and thigh with sharp objects. His friends were also beaten up. He was bleeding profusely… The boys tried to run away but were few in number. The school administration did nothing to help. How did the students get such weapons?”
