Boston Terrier Stolen From Car While Owner Stopped For Gas On His Way To Christmas Dinner

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) — A Boston Terrier was stolen from a car while its owner stopped for gas in Spring for Christmas dinner.

“It was so bad,” said dog owner Danny Thomson. “It was like one of my kids had been kidnapped.”

Thomson filling his car at 535 FM 1960 in Spring. Thomson said he left his dog in the car when he went inside the shop to pay.

“As I waited for the register, I looked at him,” said Thomson. “I looked and didn’t see him. Sometimes he would run into the floor board when he released himself. I wasn’t gone for more than a minute or two, and I came back and he was gone.”

Thomson said he reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station, which confirmed that his 5-year-old dog, Yogi, had been stolen.

Thomson said, “I saw the dark Chevrolet truck drive next to me, and the man got out and put Yogi in his car and left.”

Thomson was on his way to his daughter and his ex-wife’s house for a vacation. He said it took several hours for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to respond, so Thomson never made it to dinner.

“It sure isn’t the Christmas I imagined it to be,” Thomson said. “He was my friend.”

Thomson said that he and Yogi were inseparable and used to drive everywhere together. When he drops Yogi in the car, Thomson leaves a crack in the window to save him from heat stroke. This time, he kept the door open while he paid, so Thompson said he felt partly responsible.

Thomson is offering a substantial reward for any information that leads to Yogi’s return. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomson is hopeful and is wishing for a Christmas miracle.

“We want him back. We are very close,” he said.
