Bombay HC refuses to restrain Nawab Malik from publishing material against Sameer Wankhede

The Bombay High Court on Monday refused to restrain NCP leader and state cabinet minister Nawab Malik from publishing information on public domain and social media against the regional director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Sameer Wankhede and members of his family.

Dhyandev’s petition claimed that the entire action against Sameer Wankhede began after Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan was arrested by the NCB in January this year for allegedly prohibited trade under the NDPS Act. Khan was later released on bail in September.

The HC noted that the tweets made by Malik started from October 14 and prima facie the material shows that the tweets were motivated by malice and personal enmity.

The Bombay High Court observed, “The tweets are relevant to the official duties of Wankhede as a public servant and at this stage it cannot be said that the allegations are wholly false but proper verification should be done by Malik before posting.” “

During this, Dhyandev has also lodged a complaint with the police. Malik for allegedly making “false and derogatory” remarks on various media platforms against him and his family members and his caste in Mumbai.
