BJP leader’s body found hanging from tree in Jammu and Kashmir: Som Raj was missing since Monday; SIT set up to probe death – Bharat Times English News

BJP leader’s body was found hanging from a tree in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased leader has been identified as Som Raj. He had been missing since Monday. On Tuesday, a villager found his dead body in Hiranagar area here. After that he informed the police. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe his death.

According to reports, traces of blood have been found on the body of the leader. Due to this, the family members of the deceased say that they have been murdered. Several BJP leaders had also demanded an inquiry into his death. After this, Hiranagar police has started investigation in this case under section 174 of IPC.

Kathua SSP RC Kotwal said that an SIT under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) has been formed to investigate the matter. The leaders who have been accused by the family of the deceased will be interrogated. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
