Police said a 36-year-old barry One man has been charged with attempting to steal three vehicles.

Barry police said that on July 16, at around 6.30 pm, the officers received information about the uproar. Highway 400 and the Park Place Boulevard area.

Police said there had been a “minor motor vehicle collision” and the two drivers were attempting to exchange information.

Officials said that when a man approached a driver and offered to buy his car.

“The man’s bizarre behavior continued as he jumped into the driver’s seat of the vehicle owner he had approached,” police said in a news release.

Officials said the owner was able to “physically remove” the man.

According to the police, there was an altercation over some issue and a car was damaged.

Authorities allege that the man then twice “tried to steal other occupied cars located in a nearby parking lot.”

“A Barrie police officer attempted to flee the suspect and during the arrest the officer was assaulted,” officials said.

Police said the officer was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and was released.

According to police, a 36-year-old man from Barrie has been charged with three counts of robbery, mischief, assaulting a police officer and breaching probation.

Police said he has been remanded in custody and is to appear in court on Monday.
