Actress Barkha Singh grabbed the attention of many for her portrayal of a young bride in the second season of Netflix’s Masaba Masaba. And now, she will be seen in the lead role of the cast in the recently released drama series titled The Great Wedding of Munnes co-starring Abhishek Banerjee. The ten-episode series revolves around a young man who encounters hilarious misfortune while desperately trying to marry the woman of his dreams.
While Singh has previously worked with Banerjee as casting director, this is the first time the two have shared screen space. Talking about the same, Singh says, “Even though Abhishek cast me in the show through Casting Bay, we have never met before. I met him for the first time in Mathura to shoot for this show as he had already started shooting and I joined the schedule after a while, it was an absolute blast. ,
Sharing his experience of shooting with them, Singh said, “Well, we got along very well, better than we expected. As actors we had a lot to take and take because he is also someone who loves last minute improvisations and I thoroughly enjoyed it! We became very good friends through the schedule.”
It is said that acting is a lot about giving feedback and taking cues from your co-actors, and Singh agrees. The Please Find Attached actor shared, “We both as actors love to have fun with the scene and we love to explore more than what is written in the script. Some suggestions are rejected and some suggestions are also taken. It was a lot of fun working with Abhishek and we played with each other’s energy and I hope that translates into the show as well.
Singh plays the role of Mahi in the show, who enters the life of Munnes (essayed by Banerjee) and develops feelings for him. The rollercoaster ride that follows makes up the rest of the story.
