Ban on marriage ceremonies after 10 pm in Islamabad

Islamabad: In order to save electricity in the midst of the increasing power crisis in the country, the government has decided to ban marriage programs in Islamabad after 10 pm. geo news Reported on Wednesday quoting sources.

A day earlier, the federal cabinet approved a comprehensive plan to gradually bring down power loadshedding to two hours by the end of the current month and also reinstated the Saturday holiday in government offices.

This ban will come into effect from today (June 8).

According to sources, the ban is being implemented on the instructions of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Besides, only one dish will be allowed at wedding functions in the capital, sources said, adding that a notification in this regard will be issued soon.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police and city administration have been directed to strictly enforce the ban, sources said. Strict action will be taken by the capital administration for violation.
