Balochistan government ‘sold’ for Rs 3.5 billion, claims former PM aide

PTI’s parliamentary leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, has claimed that the provincial government was sold for Rs 3.5 billion.

But he made this comment while speaking don news tv The ‘Live with Adil Shahzeb’ show on Thursday night, a day after he tendered his resignation for the second time as Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Power and Natural Resources for Balochistan.

Last time he withdrew his resignation after the Prime Minister’s assurance.

During the show, in which he spilled the beans about the political turmoil in the province, Rind explained his reasons for joining PTI, stating that he wanted Balochistan to get the same rights as other provinces.

He claimed that the chief minister of the province was not chosen by Baloch votes, but was appointed at the will of the “people of Islamabad”. Rind said Islamabad had “three contractors” and some “personalities” who played a role in the appointment of Mir Abdul Qudus Bijenjo as chief minister.

He reiterated his claim that the Balochistan government was “revenge” at a cost of Rs 3.5 billion, saying ministries, ministers, cabinet departments, secretaries and departments were “sold”.

When asked whether Bijenjo took the money, Rind replied in the negative, claiming that the chief minister acted as a “facilitator” to collect the money and transport it to Islamabad.

However, Rind did not name anyone, claiming that “prominent personalities” lived in the capital. “This is where the politics of power happens” [in Islamabad], the power corridors are here. our destiny and our destiny is fixed [in Islamabad]He reiterated that the Chief Minister was not elected by the votes of the people of Balochistan.

He said there were many people who claimed that all decisions regarding Balochistan pass through the “corridors of their homes”, but once again refrained from taking any names. “I would have named him but I can’t because I am not an eyewitness,” he said.

He also called upon the prime minister to reveal the names of politicians who had allegedly paid Rs 70 crore to become a senator from Balochistan. “Why doesn’t PM Imran reveal the names? Why doesn’t he punish him or challenge it in the Election Commission of Pakistan. Why isn’t he de-seat?”

Rind said the prime minister should also reveal the names of those who sold the Balochistan government for Rs 3.5 billion and those who bought it. “These two are guilty. PM Imran should expose both of them in front of the country.”

He said a commission should be set up to probe these claims, adding that he would be the first to testify before it.

When asked about the reasons for the rift between him and the Prime Minister, Rind said that he did not have “arrogance”, but was proud of his family background and his character.

“I am not an arrogant person. If I had arrogance why would I join Imran Khan? I joined him in the hope that he was not a conventional politician. […] How did we know that he is such a great politician.”

Rind said he had voted for the prime minister in the hope that he would bring about real change and give people their due rights.

Talking about the opposition’s planned no-confidence motion, Rind said that he has been a member of the Assembly several times, but has never seen such a “serious attempt” to oust the government.

He termed the current political situation as “extremely dangerous”.
