Men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty gave India a 21-11, 21-12 win over Yong Kai Terry Hee and Andu Jun Kian Kwek to lead India into the semi-finals. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu extended India’s lead 2-0 with a 21-11, 21-12 result against 19th-ranked Jia Min Yeo.
The third match between Sen and Loh was the most anticipated rubber of the semi-final with the 10th-ranked Indian facing ninth-placed Singapore. Sen, who extended his one-off count to 4-2 on Loh, took his chances against Singapore and succeeded more than once.
