Avalanche fan banned from home games after spilling friend’s ashes on snow

Ryan Clarke was banned from participating AVS Games in Ball Arena For the rest of the season after he was caught spreading his friend’s ashes on the ice in a January 8 game.

“We put him in a little bag. We put Kyle over the glass and in the ice. An usher came up to me and was like, ‘Oh man, what was that?’ And I said, ‘Well, to be honest, that was my best friend Kyle. He died,'” Clarke told KMGH.

Kyle Stark died unexpectedly in late December. a dedicated AVS fanClark knew this would be something his dear friend wanted.

“When constantly asked, ‘Where do you think he is?’ Well, that Zamboni took him all over the snow,” Clark said. “Really, again, not the brightest idea. But, in my heart,[it]was the best way I could pay tribute to my friend that he really loved more than anything in the world.”

The Lightning survived to play another day with a 3-2 Game 5 win against the Avalanche on Friday night. The series returns to Tampa on Sunday night, and a win for the Lightning will force Game 7 at Ball Arena.
