And then there was one. Another game to go. There is one T20 International left in the Australia-India multiformat series, the first time Australia has used this format outside the Ashes. Which is great, because England and now Australia have played Test matches against India in the last few months, and hopefully this is a step towards seeing more of it, and seeing it better supported by cricket boards.
Australia have already won this series and have gone from 9 points to 5 in all the matches played so far. But India may consider itself very unlucky. He lost a match of 50 overs trying to bowl with a slippery ball in the final over. They were on top in the Test match and the first T20, only to be denied rain both times. And they lost a close last night in the second T20. He also had fielding and captaincy mistakes in crucial moments, which didn’t help. But even after all this, if it had not rained, then perhaps this series would have been won. This has not been a display of dominance by world champs.
So here is one last chance to make a statement. At least reflect close to close margin and make it better. Or, Aussies could be bubbly after winning and India could be flat, so it could barely slide to the other side. Who knows? This series has completely defied the prophecy.
