The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has been accusing Yadav’s father and former Uttar Pradesh CM Mulayam Singh Yadav of firing at kar sevaks during the Ram temple movement in the 90s. The SP chief has so far completed nine phases of his ambitious Rath Yatra in different parts of the state. Yadav has so far traveled from Ghazipur to Lucknow via Purvanchal Expressway, Jaunpur, Banda to Mahoba, Unnao, Lucknow etc.

The SP chief’s ‘Vijay Rath’ has been decorated with portraits of party chief and former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Rampur MP Azam Khan, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav and party’s state president Naresh Uttam Patel and embossed with the slogan. ‘The hand of the evil is with the youth’.
