In yet another twist in the investigation of cash recovery from three Jharkhand MLAs, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) has summoned Ashok Dhanuka, a businessman from Assam, to Kolkata at 10 am on Monday.

Three Congress MLAs from Jharkhand – Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Naman Bixal Kongari were arrested by the West Bengal Police after confiscating over Rs 49 lakh in cash from a car in which they were travelling.

According to CIDWhen they reached Dhanuka’s house in Guwahati to serve the notice, they saw that the Assam Police was guarding it.

Sources said that the West Bengal police then went to the local police station, met senior officials and finally made their way to this house to give notice in absentia, pasted on the wall.

Sources said that the notice has been issued under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code. They have been asked to be present in Bhabani Bhawan.

According to sources, the MLA has gone to Guwahati twice.

Meanwhile, another Jharkhand MLA Anoop Singh claimed that he was offered bribe by three MLAs and also alleged that Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma was behind it.

Interestingly, Piyush Hazarika, a minister in Sarma’s cabinet, gave a picture of Anoop Singh having breakfast with Sarma.

Trinamool Congress says that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to topple the government in Jharkhand and Sarma is behind this conspiracy.
