Arson accused former BSP MLA joins BJP in UP

Former BSP MLA and history sheeter Jitendra Singh ‘Bablu’ joined BJP In the presence of party’s UP chief Swatantra Dev Singh and several senior party leaders here on Wednesday. The move created controversy as the former BSP MLA is one of the main accused in the 2009 arson case at Rita Bahuguna Joshi’s residence. Joshi was the President of the UP Congress at that time.

Joshi, who represents Prayagraj in the Lok Sabha, expressed surprise, claiming that Jitendra Singh may have hidden facts from the BJP leadership, and said she would demand the cancellation of his membership.

“I believe he (Jitendra Singh Bablu) kept the BJP leadership in the dark and joined the party as the doors of BJP are open to all at all times,” he said. I am sure that UP BJP President (Swatantra Dev Singh) was not aware of the criminal background of Bablu and was involved in the attack on my house. I will talk to the state (BJP) chief and the national president (JP Nadda) to cancel their membership.

Joshi, who was then in the Congress, claimed, “When my house in Lucknow was torched in July 2009, he (Bablu) was at the fore and was found guilty during the investigation.” Him.

Rita Bahuguna Joshi’s Lucknow residence was torched by masked men on July 15, 2009, when she allegedly used derogatory words against the then Chief Minister and BSP chief Mayawati. At that time, MLA from Bikapur in Ayodhya, Jitendra Singh Bablu was reportedly among those leading the mob. Around two dozen policemen were also booked in this case for allegedly ‘facilitating’ the perpetrators of the attack.
