Army chopper conducts precautionary landing in Sangli, no casualties

AN ADVANCED Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv of the Indian Army conducted a precautionary landing in a field in Sangli district of Maharashtra on Saturday due to a technical issue in the morning, officials said. No casualties were reported in the incident. 

“The incident took place around 9:50 am in Erandoli village under the jurisdiction of Miraj Rural police station in Sangli district. An ALH Dhruv chopper of the Army Aviation Corps conducted a precautionary landing due to a technical issue.” said Sub Divisional Police Officer for Miraj Division, Pranil Gilda. 

Gilda added, “Two pilots and a technician were flying in it from Nashik to Bangalore. Around two hours later, another chopper arrived for technical assistance. After rectification of the technical issue, both the choppers took off from there. No casualties were reported in the incident.” 

Sources said that the helicopter experienced some unusual vibrations in the air and the pilots decided to conduct a precautionary landing. Officials said that teams from the local police station were deployed for the assistance of the Army team.
