While officers are finally able to lift the manhole cover, the frightened kitten is then running for freedom – inside a nearby patrol car. The ‘Frightened Cat’ was eventually captured, appropriately named ‘Stormy’ and adopted by Taverius. “We are not animal control, but we are happy to help when someone – human or animal – needs our help,” SPD posted.

Savannah police officers came to the aid of a tiny kitten who found himself trapped in a cramped space this week.

On Tuesday evening, officers responded to Iowa Street and helped two boys named Tavarius and Omari, who found a very frightened – and very vocal – kitten trapped in a stormwater drain.
