Analysis: Jets’ winning streak is reminder of what it takes to be great on a team globalnews.ca

The Winnipeg Jets are on their first five-game winning streak since 2018.

The run came off a five game slide of four losses when the Jets were in the heat of dealing with the loss of a large portion of their starting roster.

They stayed and with the return of Nick Ehlers, blake wheeler, Cole Parfetti, Nate Schmidt And saku mainlanan Soon to be back, things are coming together as the Jets prepare to begin another tough and testing stretch of games — eight on the road to their next nine.

Is this the next chance to ask yourself, “What are jets made of?” Or have we already been shown who the Winnipeg Jets are?

Have they not recovered from adversity so far this season, such as dealing with a rash of injuries at a point in the season when they went three back-to-back without a consecutive day?

The Jets have proven they have what it takes to succeed on this heavy road schedule for the next little while.

His special teams unit has continued to win games and may continue to.

His target is the elite.

Their record at home is second only to the Bruins in points earned.

It spells victory for a long time.

While the Jets’ road record is only 10-7-1, the expectation is that the Jets will continue to get back into the groove to replace injured Jets players and fully integrate into the team’s line-up.

I don’t think the Jets’ winning streak is coming to an end this week, but it’s a good reminder that this team has the potential to be great.

But they have to get better, and they are capable of getting better — and there’s no way head coach Rick Bowness isn’t going to let them forget that.

So, will this road trip really be the next test for the Winnipeg Jets, or will it be a confirmation of what we already know?

I will say this, as we approach the halfway point, the Jets need to continue to prove to everyone who they are in each and every game. No stretch or set of games will prove anything if it is followed by games that do not live up to the standard of this club we have come to expect this season.

As the old saying goes, you are only as good as your last game.

Embrace it, because that’s all that matters as the season gets narrower and narrower.
