All to play for – Harry Kane ready to battle again with Real Madrid

Bayern Munich striker harry kane He said that their match was a 2-2 draw real Madrid uefa first stage Champions League The semi-finals are “a bit disappointing” but are confident they can qualify next week.

Madrid took the lead at the start of the game in the 24th minute when Toni Kroos met a brilliant through-ball. Vinicius JuniorWho calmly slotted home to give the opposition the half-time lead.

Munich scored twice in four minutes of the second half, the first through Leroy Sané, before Jamal Musiala fell in the penalty area and Kane put them ahead by sending Andrey Lunin the wrong way.

Like the quarter-final against Manchester City, Madrid were not beaten and thanks to Vinícius’ penalty they once again came from behind to reach the second leg.

Kane told TNT Sports: “It’s a bit disappointing, once we went 2-1 up we had two or three good chances, especially from set plays, but it’s a Champions League semi-final, we’ve got a tough game. Was expected.

“Real Madrid is one of the best teams in Europe and they can punish you with one or two actions like they did today, so of course we are disappointed that we did not get the win but it is all to play for next week.”

Bayern did most of the running in the early stages and some saves from Lunin kept Madrid level before a sucker punch at the other end gave the visitors the lead.

Kane said: “We started on the front foot for the first 10 or 15 minutes, we had a few chances but then their goal came against the clock.

“They created the momentum and then we struggled to play our game, but in the second half we came with more intensity and deserved to score two goals. We could not get the third to play but could not complete it.

“We will dust ourselves off, work hard but we are looking forward to next week.”

Kane’s penalty took his season tally to 43 goals in as many games in his first season in Munich.

Kane admitted that his performances this season have not suited him well as he lost the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, but it was the big games that led to his switch from Tottenham last summer.

He said: “It’s been a good season so far but it’s all about the next game, the big game away from home to Real Madrid next week.

“All we are fighting for this year is to be in this competition, so you have to find a way to get it done.

“I have been here for many years, it is not just a one-off year that I have come for, but there was definitely an expectation at the beginning of the year to win trophies. It hasn’t gone our way in the Bundesliga and cups but the Champions League is the biggest of them all.

“That’s why I came, I want to play in these big games, these big moments and there’s no bigger opportunity than next week away from home.”
