Airtel All set to enter the home surveillance solutions business by launching a new sub-brand. According to industry sources, the company has started pilot testing of the new monitoring service for smart homes under the X-Safe brand in Delhi-NCR. The X-Secure solution includes indoor and outdoor security HD cameras with advanced features such as H.265 compression, 360-degree view, color night vision, IP67 rating, privacy shutter and human detection. In addition, the service includes FTTH broadband connectivity and telco grade cloud storage. This is a first of its kind subscription-based monitoring solution from Airtel that will enable users to monitor both indoors and outdoors at any time from their smartphone.
According to sources, the customers will have to bear the one-time cost of the smart cameras. Monthly or annual subscriptions will include access to the company’s cloud storage service where videos will be saved. Sources further reveal that the company is currently offering three camera options for the customers to choose from. Smart home gadgets are slowly making their way into the Indian market and such solutions from popular service providers are likely to boost this segment.
