  • Parveen Babi, who was in the headlines for her glamorous role, never married, today is her death anniversary

I remember Amitabh Bachchan’s film Deewar. It has an interesting scene. Amitabh is sitting in the beer bar. Then seeing him alone, a woman comes to him. The two start talking without knowing their identity. The woman Amitabh is meeting looks a little different from the Indian women of that time. He holds a cigarette in one hand and a cup of wine in the other. She is completely confident and she is wearing a short skirt.

The woman whose character is being talked about in this film is Parveen Babi, the famous actress of Indian cinema. Today is his death anniversary.

Parveen, who was in the news for her glamorous roles in the 70s, was born on 4 April 1949 in a Muslim family of Junagadh, Gujarat. He did his early education from Mount Carmel High School. He then graduated from St. Xavier’s College. He earned a master’s degree in English literature from Ahmedabad College. Father Wali Mohammad Bobby was in the administrative service of the Nawab of Junagadh. When Parveen was 10 years old, her father passed away.

Parveen worked in many block buster films. This included films like Deewar, Namak Halal, Amar Akbar Anthony and Shaan. He never married. Parveen’s modeling career started in 1972.
