49ers’ Christian McCaffrey believes NFC title was ‘stolen,’ rooting for both Super Bowl teams to lose

“It’s hard to win a football game in the NFL without a quarterback, let alone an NFC championship game,” McCaffrey told “PFT Live” on Wednesday. “I wish they would have changed the rule where you’re allowed to carry three. … I think they should change it. Obviously, it’s not good for us. It’s not good for the fans watching That they don’t have a quarterback. I hope they have some.” Go ahead with him so that you can stay in the fight.”

The NFL changed the rules to require only two quarterbacks on game days, but a sticky situation arose in the NFC Championship when Purdy suffered a torn UCL in his throwing elbow and his backup, veteran quarterback Josh Johnson, was forced to retire. I got hurt in the game.

Purdy came back but did not throw any passes.

In a separate interview with Kay Adams of FanDuel, he stated that he felt like the title was “stolen” from the team.

“You don’t want to make excuses, but it just sucks, because we want to have a healthy quarterback for a full game and just see how the game pans out,” he said. “It’s a really good team we’ve played, but it feels like something was stolen from you. Just wish it had played differently.”

When asked on NFL Network who he was rooting for in Super Bowl LVII, the running back added another blunt quip.
