3 killed, 4 injured in mass shooting at Nashville apartment

Three people were shot dead and four others were injured during a shootout at an apartment on Friday night nashville, Tennessee said.

Injured suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds, Nashville Police Department said in a tweet, adding that its Homicide Unit is probing what led to the shooting.

There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment and investigators recovered two guns after responding to the incident, which surfaced around 9:45 p.m. local time (8:45 p.m. ET).

It was one of many shootings to take place on Black Friday.

According to the Durham Police Department, two others were injured and three others were injured during the incident.

Durham Police Chief Patrice Andrews said at a news conference on Friday that all six people injured were treated for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

It is not clear how the three were injured, but police said their injuries were not from gunshot wounds.

Andrews said the shooting took place “between two groups who knew each other” and that they were “not firing indiscriminately.”

One man was taken into custody after the shooting, but Durham Police did not provide details on whether the man had been charged.
