Scindia quit the grand old party to join the BJP and was instrumental in the downfall of the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh.

Ramesh said, “Scindia is a ‘gaddar’ (traitor), a real traitor, a real traitor and a 24-carat traitor.”

Congress is soft towards Kapil Sibal

People like Kapil Sibal who maintained a “dignified silence” after quitting the party may be allowed to return, but not people like Scindia or Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ramesh told PTI.

Asked what the party’s stand would be if a renegade leader wanted to come back, Ramesh, who is the media head of the Congress, said, “I think those who have left the Congress should not be welcomed back. . the wanted.

“There are people who left the party and abused it, so they should not be taken back.

But there are some people who left the party with dignity and kept a dignified silence on the Congress party and its leadership.

Ramesh was speaking on the sidelines of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra which reached Agar Malwa in Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

Ramesh said, “I can think of my former colleague and a very good friend, Kapil Sibal, who left the party for some reason, but he maintained a very dignified silence on the Congress party, unlike Scindia and Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

“Therefore I feel that leaders who have maintained dignity can be welcomed back, but those who have left the party and ousted the party and its leadership should not be welcomed back. ” ,

Asked whether Scindia would have quit the Congress if he had been offered the party president, Madhya Pradesh chief minister or a Rajya Sabha berth, Ramesh said, “Scindia is a ‘gaddar’ (traitor), real traitor, real traitor and 24 carats.” Rebellion.

BJP’s answer- “24 carat patriot with strong cultural roots”

Responding to Ramesh’s comments, Madhya Pradesh BJP secretary Rajneesh Agarwal said Scindia was a “24-carat patriot with strong cultural roots.”

Aggarwal said that both Scindia and Sarma’s commitment to their work is “24 carat” and Ramesh’s remarks were “uncultured” and “completely undemocratic”.

Sarma quit the Congress in 2015 and joined the BJP, blaming Rahul Gandhi’s “mismanagement” for the party’s electoral defeat.

He became a Union Minister and later the Chief Minister of Assam.

Scindia quit the Grand Old Party in 2020, resulting in the fall of the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh. He was later inducted into the Union Cabinet and made the Minister of Civil Aviation.
