Minneapolis (WCCO) — On Wednesday, two teenagers pleaded guilty to multiple carjackings and robberies in the Twin Cities. Both were certified to prosecute as adults.
Asa Huff-Jones, 17, of Brooklyn Park, and Ravin Smith, 18, of Minneapolis, each pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree aggravated robbery. According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, both were certified to prosecute as adults.
Neither Huff-Jones or Smith were involved in similar crimes.
Huff-Jones will serve 86 months in prison and Smith will serve 93 months in prison.
“Our office is committed to prosecuting the carjacking cases assigned to us to the fullest extent of the law,” said Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman. “We take these matters seriously, and are doing everything in our power to ensure that those who commit violent crimes are punished for their violations.”
