Shimla, June 8
Independent MLA Hoshiar Singh from Dehra in Kangra district and Prakash Rana from Jogindernagar in Mandi today joined BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and state party chief Suresh Kashyap.
Two first time MLAs, both businessmen, entered politics in 2017 and won. Both have been supporting the BJP government in the assembly for more than four years. Both are actively campaigning, but were unsure whether the BJPWill put them on the field. Sources said that his formal induction would strengthen his claim for a party ticket in the state assembly elections to be held later this year.
The Chief Minister said that both are from BJP background and had contested the elections as independents after not getting tickets. He said that his arrival would strengthen the party.
