1742 cameras will be installed in Ludhiana under Smart City Project

Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Sabharwal said that under the Smart City project in Ludhiana, at least 1,742 cameras would be installed, apart from 30 vehicle-mounted ones, apart from installing 600 new infrared illuminators and increasing the storage space of data. , said on Friday.

Project cost Rs. Sabharwal said 35.96 crore and HFCL has been selected as the master system integrator to implement the project and complete the AMC of the project for the next five years.

Ludhiana was one of the first twenty cities to be selected under the Smart City Mission in 2016 and various projects are being developed under the aegis of Ludhiana Smart City Limited, which comes under the Smart City Mission of the Government of India.

Sabharwal said that as part of Smart City Initiative, an exhibition of Integrated Command and Control Center Project has been organized by Ludhiana Smart City Limited, which was inaugurated on Friday and will run till October 3 at Safe City Complex, Police Lines, Ludhiana. Joint Commissioner of Police (HQ), J Elanchezhian, as well as Additional Commissioner of the civic body, Aditya Dachwal were present on the occasion among many others.

Under this exhibition, Ludhiana Smart City Limited is celebrating the freedom from crime, freedom from traffic and freedom from queues by showing the command and control center to the general public.

Under this project, services like crime detection, traffic monitoring, e-governance, no parking detection, encroachment detection are also being provided to the citizens of Ludhiana. The project is being implemented as per schedule and is expected to be commissioned by the end of November 2021.
