14 charges framed after Warman RCMP investigation | Globalnews.ca

At around 7 am on 29th June, Warman RCMP received information about a suspicious vehicle on Range Road.

After an investigation, officers found a stolen vehicle from Lisk, Sask. When the RCMP tried to stop the vehicle, the driver did not stop, rammed the police vehicle and kept on driving.

The police officer inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries and the police vehicle suffered heavy damage. Officers located the stolen vehicle on Highway #12 about 10 minutes later and arrested the driver. During the arrest of the driver, a pistol was recovered and it was confiscated.

Michelle Pechavis, 32, of Mystavas First Nation has been accused of:

  • 1 count, weapon attack,
  • 1 count, attack on police officer with weapon,
  • 1 count, take possession of a motor vehicle which he knew contained a firearm,
  • 1 count, flight from police officer,
  • 1 count, dangerous operation of a vehicle,
  • 1 count, mischief over $5,000,
  • 3 counts, failed to comply with release order condition,
  • 1 count, possessing a firearm without a license,
  • 1 count, firearm with tampered serial number,
  • 1 count, holding arms contrary to order,
  • 1 count, failure to stop at the accident site,
  • 1 count, possession

Pechawis will appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Tuesday, July 5.
