With 14.39 lakh doses on Wednesday, Maharashtra breaks its own record of one-day vaccination

Maharashtra surpasses its previous best single-day vaccination tally of 14.39 lakh doses COVID-19 Vaccines to beneficiaries on Wednesday

State Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Dr Pradeep Vyas said, “A total of 14,39,809 vaccine doses were given on Wednesday.” Indian Express.

The previous best single-day record for vaccine doses was on August 21, when the state administered over 11 lakh vaccine doses, and on September 4, when over 1.2 million vaccine doses were administered.

So far, more than 6.5 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the state, and 1.79 crore beneficiaries have been fully vaccinated.

According to a report by the state health department, more than 1.2 crore beneficiaries above the age of 45 years have been fully immunized so far. The report said that more than 21 million people in the age group of 18-44 have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 29 lakh of them have been fully vaccinated with both doses.

Mumbai has given more than 1.04 crore vaccine doses while Pune has given more than 87.15 lakh vaccine doses.
