Volkswagen CEO passes away; Porsche boss Bloom will lead the German auto giant

Volkswagen The company’s CEO Herbert Diess will leave the company at the end of August, the company said on Friday. Oliver Bloom, currently CEO of Volkswagen’s subsidiary Porsche, will replace Diess from 1 September.

The reason for Dias’ departure was not announced.

In a statement, Volkswagen President Hans Dieter Potts thanked Diess for “playing an important role in advancing the company’s transformation from internal combustion vehicles, especially diesel, to a new electric age”.
