Russia blames Ukraine for large-scale drone attack on Moscow

Moscow was targeted by a drone strike blamed on Ukraine after days of heavy shelling in Kiev, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

“Eight unmanned aircraft were involved in the attack. All the enemy drones were shot down. Said In a statement, it called the incident a “terrorist attack”.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported “minor damage to several buildings” due to the drone strike. Said, adding that no one was “seriously injured” in the attack. The alleged attack comes after three days of heavy Russian drone and rocket attacks across the border in Ukraine.

This is not the first time Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out airstrikes on Russian soil.

Moscow earlier this month Claimed that Kiev was behind an attempted assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin in a drone strike that caused minor damage to the Kremlin.

However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied the allegations, saying only that “We do not attack Putin or Moscow. We fight on our territory. We are defending our villages and cities.”

For weeks, Ukrainian officials have been indicating that their forces are preparing an imminent counteroffensive to recapture territory held in the east of the country. Armed Forces of Kiev have Allegedly Carried out “shaping operations” designed to attack Moscow’s logistics and undermine its efforts to wage war.
