The government today said illegal Rohingya migrants are a threat to national security and there are reports that some of them are involved in illegal activities in the country.
In response to a written question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Nityanand Rai said, “Illegal migrants (including Rohingya) are a threat to national security. There are reports of some Rohingya migrants engaging in illegal activities.”
“Foreign nationals who enter the country without valid travel documents or whose travel documents have expired while in India are treated as illegal migrants and dealt with in accordance with the existing legal provisions,” he said. – tns
