Corum suffered an injury on November 19 against Illinois. He was active on November 26 against Ohio State, but had only two carries—both on the Wolverines’ first drive of the game, and he was shut down for the next game. game balance,
Thankfully for the No. 2-ranked team in the country, Donovan Edwards filled in quite well. He ran for 216 yards on 22 carries against the Buckeyes, including 75-yard and 86-yard touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.

No. 3 Michigan dominated at no. 2 Ohio State in Columbus, keeping national championship hopes alive
In an eight-game span this season, Corum rushed for 1,222 yards while gaining at least 108 yards in each game. In that stretch, he had four games with over 160 rushing yards, including a 243-yard performance on September 24 against Maryland.
At this point, the only one to lose the Heisman is USC’s Caleb Williams, but Corum was certainly in the conversation.
After their loss, Ohio State will likely need one of the top four (Georgia, Michigan, TCU, USC) to lose its conference title game this weekend to qualify for the College Football Playoff, which will expand to 12 teams starting in the 2024 season. If CFP starts now, Michigan would face TCU in the semifinals – the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl would host the semifinal games.
