NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be the first mover to file his nomination papers for the July 19 presidential election tomorrow.

Murmu, 64, arrived at the Delhi airport to a warm welcome by BJP leaders and workers, with Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda present to greet him.

As rose petals were showered on Murmu and literally throngs of leaders cheered for his nomination, enthusiastic voices filled the air.

Top sources said that PM Modi will be Murmu’s first mover tomorrow. The BJP is preparing a set of four nomination papers with the BJD accepting one to sign.

The BJD’s support for Murmu has propelled the NDA for the presidential election past the halfway mark in the Electoral College, with 10,86,431 votes.

The BJP has 52 per cent votes in this college as it is today and Murmu is set to become India’s first tribal president, the first president born after independence, and the youngest president.

BJD chief and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said BJP President JP Nadda had called him to support Murmu’s nomination.

“BJP President Shri @JPNadda ji spoke to me regarding filing of nomination of Smt #Draupadimurmu ji for the #PresidentElection. My cabinet colleagues Jagannath Sarka and Tukuni Sahu will sign the nomination papers today and attend the program tomorrow,” Patnaik tweeted with the hashtag #OdishaLeads.

Murmu, a resident of Mayurbhanj, was a two-time MLA in the Odisha Assembly and a minister of state in the Patnaik-led government when the BJP supported the BJD.

A set of 50 proposers and supporters are required to accompany the presidential nomination.

It is being told that BJP is also approaching YSRCP to sign Murmu’s nomination.

Murmu’s nomination is a political masterstroke, even the UPA constituent JMM is bound not to support her as JMM is a tribal party and Murmu is a tribal leader who also served as the first woman governor of Jharkhand. work done.

Nadda is personally leading the entire nomination filing and campaign strategy for Murmu.

PM said after meeting Murmu today, “Met Mrs. Draupadi Murmu ji. Her presidential nomination has been appreciated all over India by all sections of the society. Her understanding of the ground problems and India’s development.” The vision is unmatched.

The July 18 contest is a non-competition, with the UPA lagging far behind in terms of numbers. Meanwhile, non-NDA candidate Yashwant Sinha started his campaign today.
