Manjinder Singh Sirsa joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday minutes after the announcement He was stepping down as the head of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
BJP tweeted a video of him joining the party.
,With gratitude to all the office bearers, members, employees and people who have worked with me; I am resigning from the post of President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. I will not contest the upcoming DSGMC internal elections. My commitment to serve my community, humanity and nation remains the same,” he said in a tweet announcing his resignation.
Sirsa contested and won the 2017 assembly election from Rajouri Garden on a BJP ticket. His former party Shiromani Akali Dal has since parted ways with the BJP.
