Two kerosene bombs were hurled at the office of builder and brother Shankar Jagtap. BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap in Pimpri Chinchwad on Tuesday afternoon.
There were no casualties in the incident as officers were inside the building.
Pimpri Chinchwad Police said that the incident took place at around 2.30 pm at Shankar Jagtap’s office at Pimple Saudagar in Pimpri Chinchwad area. They have launched a search operation to nab the suspects after CCTV footage of the area showed three men hurling bombs.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Anand Bhoite said, “CCTV footage shows three men on bikes and these kerosene-filled bottles being used as crude bombs, possibly a cloth as a wick. being used in. being used in. being used in. On preliminary investigation, the fuel appears to be kerosene. The office was open at the time of the incident and Shankar Jagtap was present inside.
DCP Bhoite further said, ‘One bomb was planted at some distance near the gate of the premises and the other near the office door. After hitting these bottles caught fire but no one was hurt. ,
Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash said, “We have started the search for the suspects. We have got some footage from the security cameras installed in the area. I am personally supervising the investigation.”
