Kellogg’s breakup shifts focus to packaged-food group

Kellogg’s The plan to wind down its grain and plant-based food businesses is drawing attention to a corporate breakup in the US food industry.

Campbell Soup General Mills And other food manufacturers have built up baskets of their brands over the years, acquiring new, trend-aligning products and pushing into other supermarket segments, such as pet food. Those acquisitions have brought new growth for the food companies, while the giant brands that build the companies have stagnated or shrunk in some cases, drag on overall businessanalysts said.
