Iowa State football player arrested on rape charge after allegedly attacking injured woman: reports

One Iowa State According to multiple reports, the footballer has been arrested on charges of alleged rape arising from the December 2022 incident, when police say he caused the victim a spinal injury before attacking her.

Aidan Ralph 20, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony sexual assault and domestic violence charges on December 3, 2022, following an incident involving his girlfriend at the time.

According to a police affidavit, at about 1 a.m. Ralph accused the woman of cheating on him and an argument ensued. He began to push her several times and eventually pushed her down a set of stairs so hard that she broke her spine.

According to the affidavit, the injury immobilized the woman, and she begged Ralph to call an ambulance.

According to WHO-DT, the police said that Ralph and the victim had been dating for about three years at the time of the incident.

The university released a statement Thursday saying the 20-year-old Chicago linebacker and redshirt sophomore was no longer with the team.

“Eden Ralph is no longer a member of the Iowa State football program.”

A judge set her bond at $11,000 and ordered her not to have any contact with her accuser. He is to appear in court on May 15.

According to the Ames Tribune, Ralph has not appeared in a game for the Cyclones.
