An Apple expert has revealed a simple hack that allows iPhone users to track their device even when it’s turned off or set to Airplane Mode.

Niels van Stratten, better known as @appledsign On Instagram, he detailed the trick in a video on his account, in which he took his followers through a series of quick steps to hack it.

First, Niels went to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Face ID & Passcode’. He then turned off access to Control Center and USB accessories when the phone was locked—which would prevent thieves from ever turning the phone into airplane mode.

But if this did not happen, he asked the users to ensure that ‘Location Services’ is always on.

In a few easy steps users can learn to track their iPhone all the time

  • First, go to ‘Adjustment‘ And ‘Face ID and Passcode,
  • Toggle’control center,USB Accessories,’ And ‘Sir, I‘ when the phone is unlocked
  • go for’location services‘ and make sure it’s always on
  • Next, go to ‘find mine‘ and make sure all three subsections (Find My iPhone, Find My Network, and Send Last Location) are turned on

The ‘Find My iPhone’ section has three subsections – and Niels cautions that people usually only have the first setting turned on.

It’s also important to have ‘find my network’ and ‘send last location’, he said.

These settings let users locate their iPhones when they are offline, in power reserve mode, and even after the power is turned off. It will also share the phone’s location with Apple when the battery is critically low.
