FOX draws massive audience for pivotal NFL, World Cup and college football matchups

Massive audiences turned to Fox over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend for some of the biggest matchups in sports between the NFL, world Cup and college football.

For Fox’s Thanksgiving Audience dallas cowboys win The New York Giants set the record for the most watched regular-season NFL game ever. Nearly 42 million people watched the game across the FOX and FOX Sports streaming services. Overall viewership was up 49% over the previous season’s Thanksgiving matchup and up 3% over the previous year’s comparable window.

The Cowboys won the game 28–20.

On Friday, soccer fans tune into the most anticipated World Cup matchups United States and England, Fox said that the US–England match on Saturday was viewed 15,377,000 times, making it the most watched men’s football match ever on US English television, and said that viewership was higher than the 2014 group stage match against Portugal. 14% more than in which both teams had 2 draws. -2 and Cristiano Ronaldo was at his peak.

Both sides played out a 0–0 draw.

On Saturday, Michigan dominated Ohio State 45-23 and made a strong case for going into the College Football Playoff regardless of its result in the Big Ten Championship Game. It was Michigan’s first win at Ohio Stadium since 2000 and propelled them to a two-game winning streak in their rivalry.

Saturday’s matchup was the first since the “Game of the Century” in 2006 in which both teams entered 11–0. The Wolverines are 12–0 for the first time since winning the national championship in 1997, while Ohio State has fallen to 11–0. 1.

All this added up to the viewership.

Fox said Michigan-Ohio State brought in 17 million viewers, becoming the most watched regular-season college football game in Fox Sports history and the most watched of any network since 2011.
