Fire broke out in Bajaur, Swabi mountains

Bajaur/Swabi: A fire broke out on a mountain in Laghari area of ​​Mamond tehsil of Bajaur district on Tuesday.

Locals said they tried to put out the fire, but to no avail.

Later, villagers said they informed rescue 1122, Khar station, which sent a team of six firefighters to douse the fire.

Firefighters along with local residents and forest department officials brought the fire under control.

Rescue officials and residents said several trees were destroyed in the fire that lasted nearly two hours.

The forest department has started investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the forest fire that broke out on the mountain in Gadoon Amazi area was brought under control on Tuesday after the relentless efforts of 1122 firefighters.

Rescue officials said the fire broke out in the Gani Chatra mountain and locals immediately informed the rescue service.

Fire tenders immediately reached the spot and doused the rapidly spreading fire.

This is the second fire in the inaccessible area during the last four days in which trees and grasses used by people as cattle feed were destroyed, he said.
