ED attaches Pune land worth Rs 4 cr in money laundering case against businessman Avinash Bhosle

New Delhi, August 9

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday said it has attached a plot of land worth Rs 4 crore in Pune as part of a money laundering probe against city-based businessman Avinash Bhosale.

“The attached property is the land where the corporate offices of ABIL (Avinash Bhosale Infrastructure Limited) and its other group companies are located,” the agency said in a statement.

Avinash Bhosle is the promoter of ABIL group of companies.

Land Plot No. 2, Range Hill Corner on Ganeshkhind Road, Yashwant Ghadge Nagar Cooperative Housing Society, Pune.

The agency has issued a temporary order to attach the land under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED’s money laundering case against Bhosale is based on the city police’s FIR, where it was alleged that the land was “transferred by Ranjit Mohite to ARA Properties” in violation of the original allotment conditions that existed at that time.

“The land could be transferred only to the government or commissioned officers, being a primary condition at the time of allotment of this land by the government in 1951,” it said.

In this case, the agency had earlier conducted raids at various places after which incriminating documents were seized, the statement said.

The ED claimed, “The documents found during the search corroborated the allegations made in the FIR.”

ED has already questioned Bhosale in this case.

In June, the ED had attached assets worth over Rs 40 crore, including equity and preference shares, in three luxury hotels of Bhosale and his family members in connection with a separate probe into alleged violation of the foreign exchange law. PTI
