retired NBA Star Vince Carter Police said in a report Wednesday that nearly $100,000 in cash was stolen from his Atlanta home in a burglary over the weekend.
More than $16,000 and two guns were later recovered outside his home. Atlanta’s Buckhead Neighborhood, according to officials. The report said Carter told police that the money recovered was a small part of a million dollars in cash that he had kept in a bag in a cell.

The horror at Carter’s home took place at 11:50 p.m. on Sunday night with his wife and two sons.
Sondie Carter, the wife of a former NBA player, was in bed with their two sons when she heard a loud noise. Reportedly, the trio hid in a cell, and he called 911, then recited patrolling his neighborhood. As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, neighborhood patrol officers first arrived at the scene and saw a man fleeing in a black SUV, but were unable to catch him.

Police said a front window of the main house was smashed and officers found “a large amount of $100 dropped to the ground” and a black Glock 26 pistol with a gold Desert Eagle pistol and an extended magazine, police said. he said. The report said the Desert Eagle belonged to Carter, but investigators believed the Glock was a suspicious weapon.
Sondi Carter said that while she was in the cell, she heard someone rummaging through different rooms, and police later said several rooms were in disarray.
No one was injured in the incident.
