Zaman Khan, also known as Pakistani ‘Malinga’, continued to impress cricket fans with his outstanding performance during the ongoing Kashmir Premier League (KPL).

One of KPL’s best finds, Khan has taken an impressive eight wickets so far in KPL 2021. He has figures of 2-28, 3-27 and 3-18 in his three matches so far.

The right-arm pace medium bowler, whose side-arm action is similar to that of Sri Lankan icon Lasith Malinga, is already starting to make a name for himself despite playing only a few matches for the Rawalcott Hawks.

He was awarded the Player of the Match award on Wednesday after posting impressive bowling figures of 3/18 in his four overs against the Bagh Stallions.

He dismissed Rohail Nazir, Aamer Yameen and Umaid Asif to ensure that the Bagh Stallions were restricted to 156/9 in their 20 overs before the Hawks completed the run chase.

The 19-year-old from Mirpur spoke to the media after the match and credited Rawalkot Hawks captain Shahid Afridi for giving him the confidence to achieve big.

“I would like to thank the KPL management for organizing such an impressive league,” he said. “My plan is to win the man of the match award in every game.”

Zaman Khan said that former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi inspired him to bowl impressively. “He gives me confidence and I do whatever he tells me to do,” he said.
